Ahhh, Paris!
Arrival day is to be treasured. A quick nap, then walking and wandering. Friday evening we head to the Marais for window shopping and dinner.
Stopping for tea and dessert at a favorite Marais cafe, les philosophes. The French are very fussy about keeping the language pure. They love words, having deep conversations and hanging out in cafes. In Paris there are cafes where people gather on Sunday morning to have philosophical discussions. One person shouts out a topic and the customers go off into conversations together.
Delicious chocolaty dessert. Love the French tisanes (herbal teas).
The bathroom at les philosophes has lighted sayings mounted/imbedded in the mirrors above the sinks.
This one asks, Who is it who permits me to hope?
I have conscience.
I doubt.
(I was alone in the room at the time).
In a shop window, we loved this bag with an LED light embedded into it. Here, giving the price of the bag, but you could change it into your own message.
Fun...we both thought of Katherine's granddaughter, that she might like it.
English words are considered cool....INNER CITY on a sweatshirt.
Katherine said, 'I like that red, I could wear that color'.
We are both in the mood to add a new color to our basic wardrobes....and have agreed to choose different colors.
I am in a purple mood.
Took me a minute to get it....this is a very tongue in chic wedding dress.
Uses boning in the net overdress and unique shawl/veil.

Lovely!
ReplyDelete"Que m'est-il permis d'espérer" is "what am I permitted to hope" or "what do I have permission to hope."
One day in Paris . . . I'll be there one day.
ReplyDeleteLove reading your trip blog! Will we get to see your complete Paris wardrobe at some point? I am making the Miyake coat with you-will go ahead and finish mine if I can figure out how to "open up the back of the bound buttonholes"---is this hand stitching the only place the front facing is secured to the front???
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing bits of your Paris adventures. Such a delight!
ReplyDelete"J'ai conscience" means "I am aware..." Those faux-amis will get you every tme :) Love, love, love your blog.
